I’ve been squeamish for a while and avoided gadgets like this because I worried about seeing my own eardrum. When my left ear felt totally blocked for two weeks, even drops couldn’t fix it. My left ear was clogged with what looked like a “dark wall.” Meanwhile, my right ear drum appeared silvery and opaque, with a big chunk of hardened wax in front of it! Once I loosened the wax with the device, it came out quickly (see the pic). The left ear was tougher—there was so much old, hardened wax that it took me 30 minutes to remove a ton of gunk, and I still have some to go. Not the device’s fault! The wax was just so stuck that I irritated the canal a bit. Next time, I’d definitely soften it with drops first. Some suggestions: take your time, try not to stay in too long, and definitely don’t be afraid to use drops if the wax is super hard. The payoff is instant better hearing. I’m slightly obsessed with ear cleaning, owning nearly every contraption out there. Finally being able to SEE inside with a camera is a dream come true. My ears are super clean, but even I found some hidden spots. This tool is easy to maneuver once you learn the orientation, though it’s possible to irritate your ear if you stay in too long. I wouldn’t rely on it for suction, because that’s not its function. But as a camera and gentle wax scoop, it’s awesome.
